For the Rotary Minute, Carrie Haas led a brief discussion regarding the Shivwits playground project and how that relates to Rotary's International Avenue of Service (since tribes are considered sovereign nations).
Tim Welsh led us in another rousing round of horseplay!
Reminder - the installation dinner is June 29, please RSVP with menu selections to me by June 15.
Our speaker today was Jack Rolfe, Director of the School of Life Foundation (one of our club's foundation grant recipients). The School of Life is a 4 week (2 hours per week) curriculum aimed at reducing the number of high school dropouts by teaching life and coping skills. They are in every high school in the county and have expanded to other high schools in the state and soon in Clark County, NV. It is an amazing program that is having great results. They will soon be developing middle school and elementary school curriculum.
For those of you who weren't there, we missed you!
