We had no guests or visiting Rotarians today.
For the Rotary Minute, Tim Welsh shared the reason he joined Rotary - to be part of something bigger than himself. He challenged those present to think "Why Rotary?"
Tim then led us in another rousing round of horseplay.
We recapped yesterday's board meeting:
1. The club's available checkbook balance is $11,734.
2. Shivwits - we are still awaiting the tribal council decision on the shade shelter. We may still hold a spring cleanup day later this month or early May to involve the Interact Club.
3. Egor summarized the global grant status for the Puerto Penasco project. We are seeking a total of $15,000 from clubs in UT including our club. The board decided yesterday to donate $1,000 from this year's budget and pledge at least another $1,000 from next year's budget (which will have to be approved by next year's board).
4. Lil summarized the car show status and asked if we would support providing meals and entertainment on Friday night. It was decided we would recommend to the other clubs that we keep it simple the first year - have a few vendors and a band that doesn't cost much.
Reminder that the District conference is May 5-7 in Cedar City. Please go online and register.
For those of you who weren't there, we missed you!
