Our guests today included Melissa White from the South Jordan club and Eleanor Solstad (President) and Juliann Rogers from our Interact Club at Dixie HS. Interact (at the high school level) and Rotaract (at the college level) are ways to develop future Rotarians.
For the Rotary Minute, Del Beatty related a discussion he had with one of our prospective new members from DSU that was having trouble with a person on her staff. She remembered hearing us recite the 4-Way Test at the first meeting she attended but couldn't fully remember it so asked Del to say it again. She used it in dealing with the staff person (especially the part about being fair to all concerned) and it really helped. Another real life application of the 4-Way Test!
Eleanor and Juliann talked about what the Interact Club has been doing, especially regarding service projects. Lil Barron suggested and they agreed to let us know so we can help them. Del also suggested and they agreed to reach out to the Rotaract Club at DSU. We briefly discussed job shadowing opportunities. They will identify jobs or occupations they're interested in so that we can hopefully find a match with one of our club members.
We talked about the upcoming District Conference in Cedar City, May 5-7. We have a goal of at least 10 club members attending at least a portion of the conference.
Carrie Haas led us in another rousing round of horseplay.
For those of you who weren't there, we missed you!
