Happy New Year!
Our guest this morning was visiting Rotarian and prospective new member Bill Reetz (second visit). Bill re-located to the area from Colorado about a year ago.
For the Rotary Minute, Tim Burke talked about some milestones in the eradication of polio.
We inducted our newest (and 31st) member, Ron Ragan. We are now +6 new members since July 1! Keep up the good work!
Tim Welsh led us in a rousing round of horseplay.
This being our monthly business meeting, we summarized yesterday's board meeting.
The club's finances are very healthy. New members have helped.
Tim Welsh went over the member "round table" (for next week's program, everyone will have 2-3 minutes to talk about their family, career, etc. in a effort to get to know one another a little better).
Kathleen Peterson handed out the new cards for the next round of "best hand" which we'll do in early June. Del Beatty was the winner of the first round. The club donated $100 to the Washington County School District Foundation on his behalf.
Mike Empey gave an update on the Shivwits playground project. We are in the process of finalizing the shade shelter cost estimate and will set a date for the spring cleanup.
Egor discussed the Puerto Penansco global grant project which will focus on providing clean water to area schools. He also gave an update on the car show.
For those of you who weren't there, we missed you!
