For today's Rotary Minute, I reviewed the origins of The 4-Way Test which was created in 1932 by Rotarian and business man Herbert Taylor when he was asked to take charge of a company facing bankruptcy. This 24-word code of ethics was later adopted by Rotary in 1943.
Carrie Haas led us in a rousing round of Horseplay.
Lil Barron, Mike Empey and I led a discussion about the Rotary Foundation and our club's foundation. Member contributions for Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) go into the RI Foundation's Annual Fund and help support global grants and district grants (which we've received for the dictionary project for last several years). The club's foundation is generally supported by our fund raising activities. Since 2007, we have given out over $50,000 in grants to 24 local, youth-oriented non-profit groups from the club's foundation.
For those of you who weren't there, we missed you!
