11/7/15 Shivwits Playground Cleanup
By Scott R Florence

About 10 Rotarians plus family members and 20 some students from Dixie State University gathered this morning to spend a couple of hours weeding, cleaning up and spreading shredded bark in and around the community playground at the Shivwits Paiute Indian Reservation just west of St. George.

Our club has made this a semi-annual (spring/fall) service project to cleanup and renovate the playground to make it more usable by tribal youth in order to help curb juvenile diabetes.

Future plans include installing a railroad tie border to better contain the bark and eventually installing a shade cover to make the playground more usable in the hot summer months.

For those of you who weren't there we missed you!
