Our guests included Heather Christensen with the Utah Pork Producers (guest speaker), Len Erickson with the Small Business Development Center at DSU, Ronald Reagan (no, not that Ronald Reagan) and Joel Griffin with DSU.
Del provided the Rotary Minute and told about negotiating a maze made of hedges in Ireland while on a recruiting trip. They got lost in the maze until one person climbed a high point and helped them all out. He likened this to Rotary helping us find the right direction in our lives.
Mike Empey announced the Shivwits playground cleanup day - Sat, Nov. 7 at 9am. Remember that service projects such as these count towards your attendance so are a great make-up.
Tim Welsh led us in a rousing round of Horseplay and then introduced our speaker.
Ms. Christensen talked about modern pork producing practices and how much has changed over the years. The Utah Pork Producers follow the We Care principles regarding humane treatment of animals, ethical treatment of workers and responsible environmental practices.
To all of you who weren't there, we missed you!
